HEIMAR

ABOUT THE COMPANY

Established in 2009, Heimar, formerly known as Reginn, is a leading real estate company in Iceland. With an extensive background in restructuring diverse real estate properties, Heimar’s portfolio represents over a decade of experience in the industry.

Today, Heimar owns a total of ninety-nine properties equaling a total of 374,000 square meters. Of these properties, 36% meet the requirements that make up green buildings (1). Heimar primarily works with commercial properties and has built relationships with numerous influential companies in Iceland, including Hagar, Kvika, and 66° North.

Regarding the long-term goals of the company, Heimar is focused on strengthening its core areas, collaborating with Icelandic companies, and leading in sustainability. Through its real estate properties in the Smáralind area, downtown Reykjavík, Borgatún, and downtown Garðabær, which make up Heimar’s core areas, the company is realigning its current portfolio. As Heimar expands its properties, the company hopes to continue to cultivate long-term relationships with public entities in Iceland by steadily increasing its client base. Additionally, by 2026, the company seeks to certify 50% of its portfolio with the BREEAM In-Use environmental standards, which make up the criteria for green buildings (2). With sustainability at the center of its operations, Heimar seeks to continue to positively interact with the environment and the community it serves. A good example of this is Heimar´s strategy of creating a work, live, play. Over the past few years, they have divested individual properties that do not fit the strategy and invested in properties within the core. The development of the company's portfolio in this direction is designed to meet the changing lifestyles of society, a new generation of consumers, densification of settlements, changing transportation and demands for sustainability to add value to society, customers and investors.
